Just nine points separate Ducati’s Nicolo Bulega and BMW’s Toprak Razgatlioglu following the latter’s sensational weekend at Misano, with the UK round at Donington Park up next on 11-13 July. Tickets are still available in advance with savings compared to gate prices, with further reductions for teenagers aged 13-15 and free entry for children under-13. As they have done all season, the title-fighting duo went wheel to wheel in race one, but Razgatlioglu emerged on top of the battle to claim victory. ‘El Turco’s pursuit for a third WorldSBK title was aided further when championship leader Bulega was wiped out of the Superpole Race after a collision with Axel Bassani, with the Turk winning again.
Razgatlioglu then wrapped up his Misano treble after demolishing the field in the final race, finishing more than nine seconds clear of Bulega, who took second to minimise the damage from his eventful weekend.
This year’s UK round will be a last chance to see Razgatlioglu in WorldSBK action at Donington Park, for now at least, following the announcement that the Turkish rider will head to MotoGP next season. With Toprak in such rampant form, and now heading to one of his favourite circuits, he’s bound to be a contender for all three wins again in just under three weeks’ time. Don’t miss it!
As ever, three showpiece WorldSBK races will be the main highlight, with a big international support race package also featuring, including World Supersport and the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing Championship. The free of charge Paddock Show and Victory Lane zones will be as vibrant as ever with rider appearances and podium ceremonies, and the paddock will be fully open to all ticket holders.
Sunday (main double-header race day) tickets are available for just £46 in advance with Saturday (qualifying and first race) and full weekend options available too. Reductions are available for 13-15-year-olds and under-13s go FREE. Click here for more information, including the last remaining grandstand, hospitality and camping upgrades.
