Donington Historic Festival is underway as the first four races took place this afternoon on the Grand Prix circuit.
Historic Formula Junior kickstarted the racing, with the front engined grid running first to see Ray Mallock take first place at the wheel of a U2 Mk2, joined on the podium by Nick Taylor in second place and Charles Cook in third place.
The following rear engined grid saw Alex Ames take first place in a Brabham BT6, followed by Philipp Buhofer in second place and Mark Woodhouse in third place.
Pre-1966 touring cars went wheel-to-wheel in the U2TC class, seeing Guy Smith take the race win in a Lotus Cortina, followed by Jonathan Mitchell and Richard Dutton.
Classic Ferraris completed the day’s racing in the Superformance Ferrari Club Classic series. Tim Mogridge took the top spot on the podium in a F355 Challenge, followed by Tristan Simpson and Colin Sowter.
