The first batch of entry lists for this year's Donington Historic Festival (1-3 May) have been revealed, with a colossal 200 entries already received for the Motor Racing Legends categories alone.
The Royal Automobile Pall Mall Cup, GT3 Legends, Generations Trophy and Top Hat Pre-'66 Touring Cars events have reached full capacity, with entries still being received.
A total of 37 cars have been confirmed for the Generations Trophy, where family members will team up and go against other families in a bid for honours on the Saturday afternoon. The entries include father/daughter line-ups from Patrick and Aimee Watts, and MRL Chairman Shaun Lynn alongside his daughter Jemima. Meanwhile, Watts' fellow former BTCC stars Bobby Verdon-Roe and Nick Whale are racing alongside their sons Martin and Harry respectively.
Some of the most modern machines at the event will race in the GT3 Legends Series, which has attracted 31 entries, a big increase compared to last year. Several British GT contenders will be in action, including Richard Neary in a Mercedes SLS GT3, Scott Malvern at the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS, Graham Davidson's Aston Martin V12 Vantage, Jon Minshaw's BMW Z4 GT3, and the Adam Balon/Phil Keen pairing in a Lamborghini Gallardo GT3.
24 entries have been received for the Historic Touring Car Challenge, with several BTCC heroes included. Steve Soper returns to the event in a BMW E30 M3, Andy Middlehurst and his son Chris will field a Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R, and Rob Huff is set to pilot a spectacular TWR Jaguar XJS. Nick Whale's name pops up again in a Ford Escort Mk 2, while an ex-Andy Rouse Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 and a Holden VI SS Group A Commodore will also feature.
The biggest grid so far comes from the Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup, which has hit a staggering 39 cars, an increase of 14 compared to 2025! Jaguar E-Types, Lotus Elans and MG Bs dominate the entry, which also includes an Aston Martin DB4 GT, two Shelby Cobra 289s, a pair of Ford Mustangs and several more. Former BTCC champion Andrew Jordan is one of 15 contenders lining up in an Elan.
Eight Jaguar E-Types feature on the HMRN Pre '63 GT grid, with Soper featuring again here, while a famous Ferrari 250 GT 'Breadvan' is also amongst the 15 entries.
The evergreen Pre-War Sports Cars category, which features the cars with the greatest vintage at the festival, has a strong grid of 24 machines already confirmed for the two races at the event, including former F1 team principal Vijay Mallya at the wheel of a BMW 328.
Finally, 30 entries have been received for the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy and Stirling Moss Trophy double header, featuring sports cars predominantly from the 1950s. A stunning mix of Listers, Jaguars, Coopers, and Aston Martins are included.
Further entry lists for the Formula Junior, HGPCA and HRDC series that are also attending the event will be revealed in the coming days, further boosting the already spectacular entries.
