Hyundai UK has delivered six of its award-winning IONIQ 6 N electric performance cars to MotorSport Vision (MSV), Europe’s largest racing circuit owner, for use across its operations this year.
The agreement constitutes an exciting new phase of the three-year deal, signed by the organisation in 2025 to establish Hyundai as MSV’s official vehicle partner.
The arrangement will see the IONIQ 6 N take over from the IONIQ 5 N as safety car for all MSV’s UK race circuits: Brands Hatch in Kent, Donington Park in the East Midlands, Oulton Park in Cheshire, Snetterton in Norfolk and Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire. The IONIQ 5 N models will remain at the circuits in a new role as the official course cars.
High-profile series featuring over the course of the year include the British Touring Car Championship, Superbike World Championship, British Superbike Championship and British GT Championship.
Leveraging the technological breakthroughs of the trailblazing IONIQ 5 N, the IONIQ 6 N has been engineered for peak driving thrills, offering a unique personality that sets it apart from its hatchback counterpart. Hyundai’s N division experts have endowed the IONIQ 6 N with an array of advanced features for heightened driving control and engagement, including advanced suspension geometry and a re-engineered chassis, while 650PS and 770Nm of torque deliver acceleration from 0-62mph in just 3.2 seconds (with N Launch Control), and a top speed of 160mph.
This has resulted in a series of high-profile honours, including World Performance Car 2026 at the World Car Awards (emulating the IONIQ 5 N, which won in 2024), Best Electric Performance Car in the 2026 WhatCar? Awards and Best Driver’s Car in the 2026 TopGear.com EV awards.
An array of other Hyundais, including the SANTA FE, TUCSON and IONIQ 5 N Line, will continue to be used by MSV in roles ranging from VIP transport to young driver tuition and medical cars. Additionally, all guests at the world-renowned PalmerSport driving event at Bedford Autodrome will continue to enjoy a taster session in the IONIQ 5 N Line for familiarisation laps on its North circuit.
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive Officer of MSV, said: “We’re extremely excited to be adding the IONIQ 6 N to MSV’s fleet of impressive Hyundai vehicles. The IONIQ 5 N impressed me enormously when I first drove it two years ago, delivering unprecedented excitement as an electric vehicle, and JooN Park’s super-talented N team at Hyundai have moved the game on still further with the amazing IONIQ 6 N. At MSV we are proud to be showcasing the IONIQ 6 N in front of huge audiences, both at the circuit and watching on television, as it leads the field at major events across our circuits.”
Ashley Andrew, President of Hyundai & Genesis UK, said: “The IONIQ 6 N promises to be a spectacular addition to the range of Hyundai vehicles playing such a pivotal role for MSV at some of Britain’s most renowned racing circuits. As the reaction to the car has already proven, it’s the perfect demonstration of Hyundai’s leadership in electric performance cars.”
