Donington Park is ready to welcome the CRMC for another edition of its superb Classic Motorcycle Festival this weekend (1/2 August), which caters for solos and sidecars from 1945 to 2003. An incredible 585 bikes will take to the track this weekend, with a mixture of races and parades. An extraordinary variety of historic machines will feature, from Manx Nortons and Vincents to Yamaha TZs, Suzuki XR69s and more. Thrilling sidecars from 1945 to 2003 will also battle for silverware. A mammoth 43 races are scheduled across the two days, with all the CRMC championships featured plus special guest categories showcasing classic Grand Prix machines: the Lansdowne Classic Series, Forgotten Era Motorcycle Racing Club and International Historic Racing Organisation.

Highlights include a capacity grid for the ACU Post Classic 750: the weekend’s biggest racing entry at 46, filled with 1990s machinery including Ducati 916/748s, Kawasaki ZXR750s, a Yamaha YZF750-SP and Stephen Denman’s Dazlin RG500 Gamma.

The Camathias Cup for sidecars also has thirty entries, including reserves, with a notably international field.

Five classic solo PR6 parades and four Historic Interest parades will showcase special bikes rarely witnessed. And the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club will be out in force with displays on the Melbourne Loop too.
