Kyle Ryde scored a second race win at his home round of Donington Park in the second ZYN British Superbike Championship race of the weekend, charging ahead of Scott Redding and Ryan Vickers to double up for the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing team.
At the start of the race, Vickers again had a characteristic lightning start off the line to lead for Honda Racing UK ahead of Redding and Ryde with Bradley Ray in fourth position.
Ryde though was instantly on the attack and dived down the inside of Redding at Coppice before taking the lead into the Fogarty Esses to push Vickers back into second place.
The BMW Safety Car was then deployed after an incident involving Rory Skinner and Leon Haslam, when the Cheshire Mouldings Yamaha rider collided with the Moto Rapido Racing contender at Goddards.
When the race resumed, Redding was ready to fight and dived down the inside of Vickers into Redgate and then had Ryde as his next target. The Hager PBM Racing Team rider made a move into the Melbourne Loop, but ran wide at Goddards, which handed the advantage back to his championship rival.
Ryde then was managing the gap, before Redding closed in on the final laps, but the Nitrous Coin Nitrous Competitions Racing rider had the edge, although he will have to wait until Brands Hatch for the final title deciding races.
Vickers had been holding off the McAMS Yamaha of Bradley Ray, with Max Cook completing the top five after an earlier battle with his AJN Steelstock bimota teammate Joe Talbot, who was sixth. Lee Jackson scored another top ten finish for DAO Racing Honda in seventh place with Glenn Irwin, Danny Kent and Jason O'Halloran the top ten finishers.
